Dr. Melvin Hu has more than 15 years of experience in providing safe and effective surgical and nonsurgical treatments to relieve patients’ pain and help to restore theirlife. He specializes in interdisciplinary pain management with special expertise in interventional pain techniques.

Dr. Hu received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University in China, his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR) from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and his interventional pain medicine fellowship training from Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He received his Ph.D. from The UT Health Science Center/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Dr. Hu has been an assistant professor in the department of PMR at University of Kentucky Medical School. He has conducted research and received research grant from national foundations. He has published in peer-reviewed medical journals on the application of spinal cord stimulator and vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty in pain management. He has been board-certified in PMR and subspecialty board-certified in pain medicine. He is active in Collin County Medical Society and has been a delegate representing Collin County Medical Society to the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Hu is married and lives with his wife and two kids. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and his husky dog. His other interests include watching movie and sports, music, reading, travel and downhill skiing.
